# Pair Telegram

Link your Telegram account from the web app with a one-time link that lasts 10 minutes.

Pairing links your Telegram account to your TradeSurge login. It uses a one-time link that you create on the web and open in Telegram.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Coming soon.** Pairing opens with the alpha. Until then, the Settings page shows the pairing button as not yet live.
{% endhint %}

## What you need

* A signed-in TradeSurge web session.
* Telegram on your phone or desktop.

## Pair your account

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open Telegram settings

In the web app, go to Settings, then Telegram.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Generate a pairing link

Create a one-time link. It lasts 10 minutes.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Open the link in Telegram

The link opens the TradeSurge bot, `@tradesurgeofficialbot`, and passes it your code.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Confirm the link

Settings shows your Telegram account as linked.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
The most common failure is an expired link. If more than 10 minutes pass, generate a new one.
{% endhint %}

## Good to know

* Each link works once.
* TradeSurge stores only a hash of the code, never the code itself.
* You can unlink Telegram from the same Settings page at any time.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.tradesurge.co/platform/telegram/pair-telegram.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
